Barr Reeve Tennis team edged out Bloomfield 3-2 yesterday. The Vikings are now 7-1 on the season.
Barr Reeve Volleyball topped Princeton in straight sets to improve to 6-4 on the year. The JV also won in two going to 4-4. Barr Reeve will host their own invitational this weekend.

The Barr-Reeve middle school soccer team dominated the Eastern Greene Thunderbirds 6-nil on the road at Karst Park. The middle school team plays again after the holiday weekend on Tuesday at NE Dubois at 6pm. The Barr-Reeve Vikings high school team is at Washington Catholic tonight at 5:30 pm at Reese Soccer Field.
The Ball State Cardinals opened up the college football season with a 31-21 victory over Western Illinois Thursday night in Muncie. The rest of Indiana’s FBS teams will open up the season this weekend. The Indiana Hoosiers begin one the most-anticipated seasons in school history with a Big Ten battle in Iowa City. The 17th ranked Hoosiers take on the 18th ranked Hawkeyes at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Saturday on BTN. Iowa is favored by 3.5 points in the crucial cross-division matchup. Purdue hosts Pac-12 foe Oregon State at 7 p.m. on FS1. The Boilermakers are touchdown favorites and are expecting a near-sellout crowd in West Lafayette for the 500th game at Ross-Ade Stadium. Notre Dame will have to wait until Sunday night to take the field. The ninth-ranked Fighting Irish play at Florida State Sunday at 7:30 on ABC. The Irish are touchdown favorites coming off of last year’s College Football Playoff semi finals appearance.
