Taking a moment to remember

Today is September 11, 2021.
Today marks 20 tears years since the 9/11 terrorists attacks when four airplanes were hijacked by al-Qaeda terrorists and used to kill American citizens.
Many remember well what they were doing or where they were when the United States came under attack.
Washington Mayor Dave Rhoads invites all residents to remember what happened on this day 20 years ago…

The first attack was on the North Tower of the World Trade Center at 8:46 am. Just seventeen minutes later, at 9:03 am, the South Tower was hit by another airplane. Both towers collapsed in less than two hours.
A third plane struck the west side of the Pentagon later that morning at 9:37 am.
The fourth and final plane never reached its target thanks to the passengers that attempted to regain control. The plane was headed for Washington D.C., but crashed in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Nearly 3,000 people lost their lives that day and around 6,000 were injured.
