West Nile Virus has arrived in Indiana.
It’s not as deadly as the COVID-19 virus, but still it could be fatal is some cases.
Just one person has been infected so far in the state.
The case was reported in Lake County.
Around 17 mosquito pools have tested positive for the virus statewide.
The pools that tested positive were found in Allen, Clark, Daviess, Elkhart, Floyd, Gibson, Hamilton, Jennings, Lake, Marion, Martin, Pike, Scott, Steuben, St. Joseph, Vanderburgh and Vigo counties.
The State Health Department is urging residents to avoid bites by wearing long sleeves if you’re out in the woods and using bug repellent.
