Lew L. Wood, 79, passed away, Thursday, September 8, 2021, while at Ascension St. Vincent in Evansville. Lew was born February 25, 1942, in Washington, to Claud Wood and Pearl Ruth (Sherman) Wood.
Lew was retired from the Gibson County Hospital where he was a lab technician. He was a graduate of Indiana State University. Lew was a plumber; he owned and operated Lew Wood Trenching. He loved to goose and duck hunt.
Those who now mourn Lew’s passing include his sons: Jason (Lisa) Wood of Shelbyville, and Aaron Wood of Wheatland. Lew has two beloved grandchildren: Alyssa Wood of Tucson, Arizona, Grant Wood of Fishers. He also leaves a brother, Ron Wood of Washington.
During his lifetime, Lew mourned the loss of his parents, Claude and Pearl Wood, and a sister, Gail Izzattie.
Visitation for Lew Wood will be 11:00 am-1:00 pm, Saturday, September 18, 2021, at the Bethel Church, 3628 South 50 West, Washington.
The funeral service for Lew Wood will immediately follow the visitation, also at the Bethel Church, beginning at 1:00 pm, Saturday, September 18, 2021. Pastor Roy Ice will officiate. Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery.
