David G. Grubb, 59, left us peacefully on September 10, 2021, with his family by his side at the Good Samaritan Hospital. He died due to COVID complications. He is the son of Don Phillips and the late Lucille Phillips.
David was born March 23, 1962, in Washington. He graduated from Washington High School and worked at The Red Door for several years. David was an avid sports fan and a loyal Minnesota Vikings fan. He had a special talent for remembering specific players, scores, and events of any sporting event over the past thirty years. He never met a stranger and was always ready to share a story, or two, for however long someone was willing to listen.
David was loved and cherished by many people and will always be remembered for his loving heart and kind soul. David loved life.
Those who now cherish David’s memory are: his brother, James (Laura) Graber of Montgomery; his aunt, Martha Fuson of Washington; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. He will be dearly missed by his dog, Bandy.
During his lifetime, David sustained the loss of his mother, Lucille Phillips; brothers, Victor Grubb, Jr.; Dennis Phillips; Charles Pierce; and sister, Nancy Goodwin.
Visitation for David G. Grubb will be Thursday, September 16, 2021, 9:00 am – 12:00 noon, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, North Chapel, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington.
