The vacated seat on the Daviess County Council was filled last week.
Councilman Dave Smith announced his resignation from the Council last month after taking a job with Adult Protective Services.
According to the Odon Journal, Darin Holder was selected to fill the seat in District One after a Republican Caucus.
Holder is a graduate of North Daviess High School and has a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Evansville.
He worked at Crane Naval Base for over 30 years and was a recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash.
Holder says it’s an honor to serve the citizens of Daviess County.
