The Vincennes Police Department is warning residents of another scam.
The department says they have had several complaints about people receiving phone calls from their number and identifying themselves as members of the Police Department.
The individuals are telling people that they have “Failure to Appear” warrants for their arrest and that they need to pay a fine.
The Vincennes Police Department says they will NEVER contact you by phone and state you have a warrant for your arrest.
In addition, they will also not ask for any money over the phone.
Vincennes PD wants residents to be aware of this scam as the scammers are using their official number identified as (812)-882-1630.
