A Loogootee man was arrested on Saturday following an incident at a Jasper restaurant.
According to the Jasper Police Department, 61-year-old Clinton Burgess of Loogootee was arrested over the weekend for choking a child at a Jasper restaurant.
Police say they were dispatched to McAlister’s Deli on Saturday afternoon after witnesses say they saw a man slap a child and then drag the child by the arm out of the building.
The suspect and victim were later located at their home in Loogootee. Burgess was arrested following an interview at the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.
Investigators say the child was Burgess’ foster child. The child along with a sibling were removed from Burgess’ custody by child services.
