3A Tournament at Princeton:
Pike Central opens against Sullivan
Washington will face Princeton
Barr Reeve plays the winner of Pike Central and Sullivan
Vincennes faces the winner of Washington and Princeton
2A tournament at Linton:
Linton opens against North Knox
Forest Park will face Eastern Greene
South Knox will play the winner of Linton and North Knox
Southridge will play the Forest Park/Eastern Greene winner
1A at Loogootee:
Rivet will open against North Daviess
Lighthouse Christian faces Loogootee
Shoals has the winner of Rivet / North Daviess
The Girls Volleyball sectionals begin next Tuesday, Oct 12th
Tonight, Washington will play Sullivan at home, North Daviess will play South Knox.
The Washington 2A Boys Soccer Sectional begins tonight at the Sports Complex. Washington opens against Southridge in game one. Kick off at 5:30pm, with live coverage starting at 5:15pm on Memories 107.9fm. Princeton faces Pike Central in the other opening game.
At South Knox tonight, North Knox will face White River Valley in game one, while Vincennes Rivet will take on Mitchell in game two. The Washington Catholic Cardinals begin tourney play tomorrow against South Knox.
The Indianapolis Colts recorded their first win of the season with a 27-17 victory over the Miami Dolphins. Carson Wentz threw two touchdowns to tight end Mo Alie-Cox, as the Colts improved to 1-3. Jonathan Taylor rushed 16 times for 103 yards and a touchdown. Former Indy QB Jacoby Brissett threw for 199 yards and two scores against his former team. The Colts led 20-3 before Miami staged a comeback, with both touchdowns coming in the fourth quarter. With Tennessee’s overtime loss to the New York Jets, the Colts are just one game back in the AFC South standings. Indianapolis plays at Baltimore next Monday night.
The Chicago Cubs beat the St. Louis Cardinals 3-2 Sunday afternoon in a game shortened to eight innings due to rain. Matt Duffy broke a 2-all tie in the fifth inning with his second RBI single of the day to give the Cubs the lead for good. Chicago finished 71-91, while the Cardinals now look ahead to the National League wild-card game. St. Louis will play the Los Angeles Dodgers Wednesday night at Dodger Stadium. Adam Wainwright will start for the Cards, and the winner will advance to play the Giants in the NLDS. In Pittsburgh, the Cincinnati Reds won 6-3 over the Pirates. Joey Votto hit a three-run home run as part of a four-run fifth inning, and the Reds finished the season 83-79.
