Overturned Semi Causes Problems on SR 57 North of Washington

A  semi turned over on State Road 57 about six  miles north of Washington had the highway closed for a short  time Tuesday night.
Around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a tractor trailer, with a load of melons, laying on its right side in a ditch near the intersection of State Road 57 and County Road 575 N.    The Sheriff’s Department says the truck was fully loaded with approximately 43,000 lbs of melons.   The Highway was limited to one-lane traffic while the wreck was being cleared.   Due to mud on the road creating a traffic hazard, the Plainville Volunteer Fire Department was called to spray of the road and the Highway was closed to traffic.  Highway 57 was cleared and opened to traffic around 11 p.m.
