Daviess County COVID-19 Report

The Daviess County Health Department released its latest COVID count Wednesday.   Since Monday, Daviess County has reported 45 new cases of COVID-19, six of those cases in children under the age of 11.  Of the 45 new cases, 38 were in unvaccinated individuals.  The number of cases in Daviess and surrounding counties are slowly dropping but there is still a large amount of virus spread in the area.  Daviess County’s state COVID spread status remains high with an Orange designation.   Knox, Dubois, and Martin Counties are also in orange status.  Pike County is the only area county with in the red status this week.   Since the pandemic began, 4400 Daviess County residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19…that’s one out of every 8 residents of the County.  COVID-19 has caused 110 deaths in Daviess County.
