The Washington Hatchet Girls Soccer Team lost a heartbreaker to Jasper last night 2-1 in the 2A Sectional Semi Final. Congrats on a great season from WAMW.
The Hatchet Football team heads to Boonville tonight. The Washington Hatchets come in at 0-6 while the Boonville Pioneers come in at 1-5. Live coverage begins at 7:15 pm tonight from Boonville with Mark Myers and Josh Chesnutt. Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm.
The Barr Reeve Viking Volleyball Team topped Tecumseh last night 25-18, 25-18, and 26-25.
The Indianapolis Colts were back on the practice field yesterday in preparation for the Monday Night Football showdown with the Baltimore Ravens. Right tackle Braden Smith did not practice with a foot injury, but did some light work off to the side and could end up playing Monday in Baltimore. Quarterback Carson Wentz was a full participant with his right ankle sprain that has limited him the last couple of games. Indianapolis got cornerback Rock Ya-Sin and safety Khari Willis back on the field after both missed last week’s win over the Dolphins, while rookie defensive end Kwity Paye remained out with a hamstring injury. The Colts and Ravens kickoff Monday night at 8:15 in Baltimore.
The Houston Astros defeated the Chicago White Sox 6-1 in Game 1 of the American League Division Series. Houston got to White Sox starter Lance Lynn, with five runs over three and two thirds innings. The Brownsburg native Lynn allowed a run in the second, two in the third, and a two-run single in the fourth that knocked him out of the game. The White Sox will look to even the best-of-five series at a game a piece today’s Game 2 in Houston First pitch will be shortly after 2:00 pm.
Notre Dame will look to bounce back from last week’s loss to Cincinnati Saturday night at Virginia Tech. The 14th ranked Fighting Irish are 4-1, while the Hokies enter play 3-1. Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly has not revealed who will start for the Fighting Irish at quarterback. Jack Coan, Tyler Buchner and Drew Pyne all saw action in the 24-13 loss to the now fifth-ranked Bearcats. The game is a pick-em, with kickoff at 7:30 pm tomorrow at Lane Stadium. Purdue and Indiana are both on byes this week.
