Two Otwell Brothers Stabbed, Jasper Man and Woman in Jail

  1. The Indiana State Police report that two brothers from Otwell were injured and two Jasper, Indiana residents are in jail following a  Monday morning stabbing incident in Pike County.

According to the Indiana State Police, around 10:00 a.m. 37 year old Chad Norris and his 38 year old brother Cory, arrived at Jasper Memorial Hospital with stab wounds from a incident that occurred at their residence at 1868 N. SR 257 in Otwell.   Cory Norris’s injuries were minor and he was able to drive himself and his brother to the hospital.  Chad Norris’s injuries were serious and he was admitted to the hospital in Jaspter.    The Indiana State Police investigators say that 37 year old Lloyd J. Carpenter and 24 year old Emily Shelton, both of Jasper, drove to a gas station in Otwell around 8:30 Monday morning, and then walked to the Norris residence to allegedly rob them.  During an struggle inside the residence, Shelton allegedly struck Chad Norris, before Carpenter allegedly stabbed both Norris brothers.  The State Police say that Carpernter and Shelton immediately fled the scene.  State Police arrested Emily Shelton at a residence in Birdseye, around noon Monday.  Lloyd Carpenter was arrested around 4:55 p.m. when he walked out of a wooded area near CR 300 N and CR 175 E in Dubois County.   Shelton faces charges of Attempted Murder, Battery, and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.  Carpenter has been charged with Attempted Murder, and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.
   
Both Shelton and Carpenter are being held without bond, in the Pike County Jail.   The State Police say the investigation is on-going.
