A Knox County K9 has died following a seizure on the job.
The Vincennes Police Department says Sgt. Mike Caswell had reported for duty yesterday with K9 Gary to assist with a search warrant.
They reported that the K9 suffered a seizure and then was somewhat unresponsive.
He was then rushed to the Vincennes Veterinary Clinic where he was stabilized and prepped for transport to Purdue.
Upon being loaded into the vehicle, he had another episode. It was then determined that K9 Gary would not survive the trip to Purdue, and the decision was made to put him down to end his suffering.
The Vincennes Police Department asks for prayers for Sgt. Caswell and his family as they deal with the unexpected loss.
