Gibson County man arrested for break-in

A Fort Branch man is facing several charges over the weekend.
Around 2:30 am yesterday morning, Gibson County Central Dispatch received a 911 report of a possible break in at the 300 block of South Main Street in Fort Branch.
Upon arrival, officers conducted a brief search and located 25-year-old Deriece Baker of Fort Branch who they say was intoxicated.
The officers took Baker back to his residence and trespassed him from the property he was previously removed from.
Officers say they told Baker to go inside multiple times, or he could be arrested for public intoxication.
They say Baker’s erratic behavior continued and that he fled on foot from law enforcement and physically resisted officers to the point that a taser unit and a pepperball launcher were deployed to subdue Baker and his pitbull.
He was then taken into custody and charged with three counts of attempted residential entry, one count of actual residential entry, criminal trespass, resisting law enforcement, and public intoxication.
He remains in custody on a $750 bond.
