Good Samaritan’s Integrated Mobile Wellness Unit will be visiting Shoals next week.
They say that on Monday, October 25th, the unit will be visiting the Shoals community to provide mental and behavioral health care basic needs.
The Mobile Integrated Wellness Unit visits rural communities in Martin and surrounding counties that may face lack of access to mental and behavioral health resources and/or services.
According to Good Sam, nearly 1 in 5 American adults are diagnosed with a mental health condition every year and approximately 18% of Americans live with an anxiety disorder.
In May of 2020, Good Samaritan received a $4 million Federal grant to increase access to and improve the quality of community mental health and substance use disorder treatment services.
The Integrated Mobile Wellness Unit is funded by this grant.
