A two-vehicle crash took the lives of two Wabash Valley residents over the weekend.
Sullivan County Sheriff’s dispatch received a 911 call around 10:30 am yesterday morning, reporting an accident at the intersection of State Road 48 and County Road 200 E.
A 16-year-old female, who was the sole occupant of one vehicle, died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Early indications are that a 58-year-old male was driving the second vehicle. He also died from injuries received in the crash.
A-56-year old female, who police believe was a passenger in the second vehicle was airlifted to a hospital in Indianapolis. Police say her injuries were severe, but she appeared to be in stable condition.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Police say the names of the victims will be released at a later time.
State Road 48 was closed for approximately four hours yesterday but has since reopened.
