Several thousand dollars are headed to the Daviess County Health Department.
The Indiana State Department of Health received over $40 million from the American Rescue Plan.
The money will be distributed among local health departments throughout the state.
Daviess County will receive $220,000 per year over the next two years to begin in 2022.
All funds will be used for schools to help with contact tracing, vaccine administration, and supplies.
Grant dollars will also be used for the Health Department workforce as all three Daviess County Health Nurses will be designated to one school district each.
The Daviess County Health Department will also have the potential to hire additional part time workers or contract workers.
The Daviess County Commissioners approved the grant application at yesterday’s meeting.
