Tamara Tolan

Tamara Lynn Tolan, 67, of Oaktown, IN passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021 while at her residence.
Tammy was born on July 3, 1954 and welcomed into the home of Marjorie and Enos “Shorty” Tolan on August 29, 1954.
Tammy was a 1972 graduate of North Knox High School went on to Vincennes University, and then completed the Good Samaritan Radiology Program. Tammy was employed as an X-Ray Technician at the Poly Clinic in Danville, IL and the Denton State Supported Living Center in Denton, TX.
Upon the loss of her companion, Tammy Hampton, Tamara moved back to Oaktown. She was known for her kind, easy-going personality and it was always a joy for others to be in her company. Tammy extended that love and kindness to animals as well and always had dogs and cats that she considered part of the family. In her free time, Tammy enjoyed going to French Lick and she was a pretty lucky fan of the facility.
Tammy is survived by; mother, Marjorie Tolan; cousins, Dianne Day (Nick), Jeanie Hedden (Dave Bear), David Blann (Candy) and Lu Gardner; great-cousins, Brandon Blann, Barbie Blann, Ashley Becher (Matt), Sarah Potter (Rick), Abby Boover, and J.J. Beard (Valerie).
Tammy was also very fond of the younger family members; Maddie Becher, Carter Becher, Mason Potter, Olivia Potter, Addie Hedden, Britney Blann, Taylor Beard, Grant Beard, and Will Beard.
Survivors on Shorty’s side of the family include; cousins, Linda, Tim, Maureen, and Paul Mullady and children.
Tammy also enjoyed being with a great group of girls, especially her neighbor and good friend, Diane Marlow.
Tammy was preceded in death by; her father, Enos “Shorty” Tolan; grandparents, Maude and Clarence Blann; an Uncle Gerald Blann; and cousins, Linda Forster (Donnie).
Visitation will be on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. in Oaktown First Christian Church, 103 School St. Oaktown, IN 47561. A Celebration of Tammy’s life will immediately follow at 2:00 P.M. also at the church. Burial will follow in Oaktown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Vincennes Animal Shelter 1128 S. River Road, Vincennes, IN 47591 or charity of one’s choice.
