The Indiana Pacers take on the Toronto Raptors Wednesday night north of the border. The Blue and Gold are 1-3 after losing to the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks Monday night at home. Toronto is also 1-3, and will look to end its three-game home losing streak. The Pacers have not played in Toronto since February of 2020, as the Raptors spent last season in Tampa, Florida due to COVID-19 restrictions in Canada. Indiana has not won at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena since 2013. Indiana University product O.G. Anunoby is leading Toronto with 17.5 points per game. The Raptors and Pacers tip off at 7:30 p.m. Eastern.
Indiana Pacers guard Caris LeVert returned to practice Tuesday and is closing in on making his season debut. LeVert has missed the first four games of the season with a back injury, and the 6-foot-6 guard said he does not know when he will return to game action. Pacers coach Rick Carlisle had previously announced that LeVert would miss the first four games and then be reevaluated. LeVert averaged 20.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game in 47 games last season between the Nets and Pacers. The 27-year-old sat out nearly two months to undergo surgery for kidney cancer.
The annual NFL Scouting Combine will return to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis in 2022, but could be on the move starting in 2023. NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations Troy Vincent announced that Indianapolis will compete with Dallas and Los Angeles for the chance to host the 2023 combine. The week-long event brings in college prospects to work out and interview in front of NFL scouts and executives. It has been held in Indianapolis since 1987, with the exception of this year due to the pandemic.
