The Colts jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter before the offense went cold. Indy’s first touchdown came on a blocked punt by Zaire Franklin, which was recovered and returned 12 yards for a touchdown by fellow linebacker E.J. Speed. Jonathan Taylor rushed for 91 yards in the first quarter, and finished with 21 carries for 116 yards and a score; his seventh-straight game with a rushing touchdown. After an 0-3 start, Indianapolis has won five out of seven to get back to .500 for the first time this year at 5-5. The Colts go on the road next Sunday against Buffalo. The Bills are 6-3 and ended Indy’s season in the Wild Card Round in January.
The Indiana Pacers look to stay hot Monday night when they take on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. The Blue and Gold beat the shorthanded 76ers Saturday night and have won three out of four. Justin Holiday scored 27 points off the bench. Center Goga Bitadze is available to play after missing Saturday’s game with a non-COVID illness. Rookie guard Chris Duarte is questionable with an ankle injury suffered in the win over Philly. Earlier this month, the Pacers beat the Knicks 111-98 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse behind 25 points and 13 rebounds from Myles Turner. Indiana is 6-8 and begins a three-game road trip Monday night at 7:30 p.m. Eastern in New York.
