WCS Personnel Changes

The Washington School Board held its regular November meeting Tuesday night.
The board granted a leave through the end of the first semester to elementary teacher Marcia McClure. McClure will be retiring at the end of the semester.
The Board also approved the retirement of Helen Griffith Elementary School Secretary Terry Galloway, effective at the end of the semester, and received resignations as instructional assistants from Aleah Carlisle and Stevie Joyce.
Misty Chestnut and Jordan Bennington resigned from Elementary STEM, and Brett Matheson resigned as head varsity volleyball coach.
The Board then approved the following appointments, Kathy Collison as an instructional aid at North, Ivy Capehart as instructional assistant at Lena Dunn, and Jenny Cherry and Mary Jo Beauchamp as WIDA and ILEARN testing.
In other business the Board approved overnight trips for the Lady Hatchets to play in the Hall of Fame Classic in New Castle on December 28th & 29th and the wrestling team to participate in a tournament in Madison on December 27th and 29th.
Finally, the Board approved a request from WHS teacher Christine Myers to attend a conference in Rome, Italy.
Board members also approved a purchase agreement for two pieces of property on SR 257.
