Indiana Chamber of Commerce Hosting New Competition

The Indiana Chamber of Commerce is hosting a new competition, which will crown the Hoosier manufacturer that creates the Coolest Thing Made in Indiana.
Entries for the competition are now being accepted through December 15. There is no entry fee.
“The company does not have to be headquartered in Indiana, but the product they’re submitting into the competition has to be made in Indiana,” says Kevin Brinegar, President of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. “We’re looking for new technology, new innovations, things that help businesses thrive, help improve people’s lives … really anything and everything that someone would look at and say, ‘wow, that’s cool.'”
The competition will feature veteran manufacturers to budding entrepreneurs, in a single-elimination tournament. Winners will be chosen through public fan voting, with the products receiving the highest votes in each match-up moving to a subsequent round.
“It will be a March Madness type approach where there will be head to head competitions and voting, which is open to anyone, and they can choose which of the two they think is more cool,” says Brinegar. “We keep doing that until we get to a final four, and then eventually to the coolest thing made in Indiana.”
Prizes will be awarded to the Coolest Thing Made in Indiana winner, the runner-up and other finalists. These prizes include feature articles about the company, coordinated media outreach for the company, and more. The winning item will be announced on February 15, at the Indiana Chamber’s Chamber Day Legislative Dinner.
To enter, companies must fill out a brief application at www.indianachamber.com/coolestthing.
“The goal is to showcase our manufacturing industry and bring to the forefront some very innovative, cutting edge technologies that are occurring right here in our state,” says Brinegar.
