Girls Basketball: 

North Knox beat North Central 63-52.

Shoals lost to Shakamak in a very close game 47-45.  Tonight Shoals plays At Dugger.

The Barr Reeve girls host Springs Valley tonight. Tip off is at 7:30 pm on the General 95.9 / 101.3fm. 

Washington Catholic plays at N.E. Dubois. 

Jasper travels to North Harrison. 

Loogootee will entertain Orleans. 

Vincennes Lincoln will host Gibson Southern.

Boys Basketball:

Jasper is at home against Evansville Bosse. 

North Knox travels to Clay City. 

The Washington Wrestling team competed in their first meet this past Saturday in Vincennes.  Eight schools participated in duals competition.  Washington finished 2-3 on the day beating North Knox and Olney. Losing to Vincennes, Corydon Central and Mount Carmel. Mount Carmel.  Next meet will be tomorrow at home against Princeton at 6:30.  

Notre Dame football coach Brian Kelly is leaving to become LSU’s head coach. An official announcement is expected Tuesday, according to multiple media reports. The 60-year-old Kelly has been at Notre Dame since 2010 and he is the winningest coach in school history with 113 victories. In 12 seasons in South Bend, Kelly led the Fighting Irish to the 2012 BCS national championship game, and College Football Playoff appearances in 2018 and 2020. The Fighting Irish are 11-1 and ranked sixth, and could make the Playoff once again. LSU’s offer to Kelly is for 10 years and over 100 million dollars total, including incentives.  Notre Dame could target Cincinnati coach Luke Fickell, according to media reports. The Bearcats are 12-0 and ranked fourth in the CFP rankings. 

Purdue basketball moved up one spot to number two in the AP Top 25 poll, matching the highest ranking in program history. The Boilers received nine first-place votes, and the number two ranking is the school’s highest since the 1987-88 season. Duke jumped up four spots to earn the number one spot in the AP Poll after defeating previously top-ranked Gonzaga Friday night. The second-ranked Boilers host Florida State Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. Eastern as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Purdue is 6-0 and favored by 11 points over the 5-1 Seminoles. 

Indiana will look to stay undefeated when the Hoosiers travel to Syracuse to play the Orange in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge tonight. It is the first road game of the Mike Woodson era, and the 6-0 Hoosiers will have to navigate the Syracuse 2-3 zone.  The Hoosiers are coming off a 90-79 win over Marshall, including 43 points from forward Trayce Jackson-Davis. IU is favored by 1.5 points for tonight’s 7 p.m. tipoff from the Carrier Dome. 

The Minnesota Timberwolves used a stellar third quarter, and beat the Indiana Pacers 100-98 Monday night in Minneapolis. Michael Beasley hit a tie breaking 3-pointer with 51 seconds to go to put Minnesota on top for good.
