James Orville Richards 101, of Bicknell, passed away on December 2, 2021.
James was born on November 4, 1920 in Russelville, Ill. to the late Lula Byrd Richards and Jess Richards.
James was married to Agnes Marie Woolard Richards on March 22, 1946. He was a custodian for Good Samaritan Hospital for many years. He served is country proudly in the Army and was a POW in WWII; he suffered unimaginable things, yet came back and always was kind to everyone and gave smiles freely. James was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.
James is survived by; his children, Brenda West, Irene Phipps, and Wayne Richards (Cheryl); thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Mae Moyes.
He was preceded in death by; his wife, Agnes Richards; daughter, Debbie Gosser; and a son James Richards Jr.
There will be a service on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. with visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes, Bicknell Chapel. Burial will follow in Indian Prairie Cemetery. The staff at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homs is honored to be entrusted with Mr. Richard’s arrangements.
