Mary Margaret Brown Evans, 101 of Greenwood, formerly of Vincennes, went to her heavenly home surrounded by her family on Friday, December 3, 2021 while at I.U. Health Methodist of Indianapolis.
Mary Margaret was born on October 11, 1920 in Vincennes, IN to the late Vernon Brown and Marie Lampe Brown.
Mary Margaret was a 1938 graduate of St. Rose Catholic School. Mary Margaret was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was very active in her church (St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church parish) and also received the Brute award, she was a member of the Alter Society, Knights of Columbus auxiliary, and the Women’s American Legion Auxiliary. Mary Margaret was the housekeeper for St. John’s for over thirty years.
She will be sorely missed by; her children, Rose Ann Barth (Hayden) of Evansville, Kathy Lemberger (Paul) of Fishers, John Evans (Jane) of Mt. Carmel, Ill, Mark Evans (Linda) of Vincennes, Marty Evans (Becky) of Terre Haute, and Mary Angela Roark (Wes) of Greenwood; twenty grandchildren; forty-nine great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; and a brother, Paul Brown of Vincennes.
Mary Margaret was preceded in death by; her parents; husband, Lloyd Evans; two grandsons, Michael Evans, and Nathaniel Roark; three sisters, Hilda Fraker, LaVern Kent, and Patty Werner, and a brother, Charles Brown.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at St. John’s Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. with visitation the evening prior, Monday, from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes, Vincennes Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
