The Barr Reeve girls brought home the girls version of the Buggy Bowl trophy last night with a 35-30 win at North Daviess. Barr Reeve has now won two in a row to go to 3-6 with a road trip to Bloomfield tomorrow morning at 11am. North Daviess falls to 2-8 and will play again Wednesday At Vincennes Rivet.
Washington Catholic fell to Loogootee 54-18.
Rivet squeaked out a close win last night over South Knox 47-42. The Patriots are 7-0.
Pike Central lost at Southridge 40-16.
Vincennes Lincoln defeated Jasper last night at Adams Coliseum 50-35.

The Washington Catholic game at Vincennes Rivet has been cancelled tonight.
The 7th grade Hatchet Boys fell to 5-2 on the season with a 48-38 loss to the Forest Park Rangers. Aiden Boyd had 15 points for the Hatchets followed by Levi Burkemper’s 10, Charlie Holtsclaw 5, Brody Armes 4, Caleb Bouchie 2 and Drew Jones 2. The 7th grade Hatchets will play again Tuesday night vs Vincennes Rivet in the Junior High Gym.
The 8th grade Hatchet boys improved to 7-0 with their 7th straight win, a 51-48 victory over the Forest Park Rangers. Xavion Lesure lead a trio of players in double figures with 18. Cordell Turner had 17 and Brody Isza 12. Cooper Wright and Trey James each had 2. The 8th grade Hatchets play again Thursday at North Knox.
Both the 7th grade & 8th grade Lady Hatchets hosted Forest Park in games at the Washington Jr. High Gym. The 7th grade girls opened up with a win 27-19. Leading scorer was Ella Knepp with 8 pts. 7th grade goes to 4-1 on the season and plays Saturday at Heritage Hills at 11:00 am.
The 8th grade girls closed out with a 36-20 win. The 8th graders go to 5-1 and will Host Heritage Hills 8th grade at 11:00 am on Saturday at the Hatchet House.
Rutgers forward Ron Harper Jr. hit a nearly half court buzzer-beater, and the Scarlet Knights stunned top-ranked Purdue 70-68 Thursday night. Boilers big man Trevion Williams gave Purdue a one-point lead with a turnaround layup off the glass with 3.4 seconds to go. Harper Jr. weaved his way through defenders and hit the running heave, and Scarlet Knights fans stormed the court. Harper Jr. ended with a game-high 30 points, including a go-ahead jumper with 13 seconds to go. Purdue was playing as the number one team in the country for the first time ever, and will likely lose that distinction come Monday. Williams led the Boilers with 21 points and 11 rebounds off the bench. The Boilermakers are 8-1, and take on North Carolina State Sunday in the Basketball Hall of Fame Invitational in Brooklyn.
Four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Al Unser Sr. has died at the age of 82. Unser died at his home in New Mexico after a 17-year battle with cancer, according to Indianapolis Motor Speedway president Doug Boles. “Big Al” won the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing” in 1970, 1971, 1978 and 1987, and has led the most laps in the history of the event. Unser is one of four men to win the race a record four times, along with A.J. Foyt, Rick Mears, and Helio Castroneves, who joined the exclusive club earlier this year. Unser’s older brother Bobby won the Indy 500 three times, and died in May at the age of 87. His son Al Jr. also reached victory lane at Indy twice, in 1992 and 1994.
Indiana Pacers coach Rick Carlisle has tested positive for COVID-19 and has entered the NBA health and safety protocols, according to a report from ESPN. The Pacers canceled practice Thursday as a precaution, and ESPN reported Carlisle is fully vaccinated and is experiencing mild symptoms. Indiana will likely be without its head coach when the Pacers host Carlisle’s former team Friday night. The Blue and Gold take on the Dallas Mavericks at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Carlisle was in Dallas for 13 seasons, and coached the Mavs to their only NBA title in 2011. Indiana has won two in a row to improve to 11-16, while the Mavs have dropped eight out of 11 to fall to 12-12. Tip off from downtown Indy at 7:00 p.m. Eastern.
