Arthur L. Wheatley, 90, of Montpelier Indiana, passed away Sunday, December 19th, 2021 at IU Health in Hartford City, Indiana.
Arthur was born on February 5th, 1931 in Knox County, Indiana to William and Sally (Selby) Wheatley.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, his Wife Judith Wheatley, Brothers William Wheatley Jr., Paul Wheatley and a Sister Lucy Keith.
He is survived by a Sister Lorrayne Whitehead, Daughters Pamela Wheatley and Sandra Stoll, Son Roger (Carolyn) Wheatley, Stepson Galion (Donna) Leighty, Stepdaughter Joyce Rudolph, thirteen Grandchildren, twenty five Great Grandchildren and four Great Great Grandchildren.
Arthur “Bud” was hardworking, honest, loyal and was a faithful Father and Friend. He loved Jesus and his Family and never met a stranger. He was a devoted and loving Husband to his Wife Judy for 59 years. His interests include watching Sports on TV, Landscaping & Gardening, tinkering with Cars and model Trains.
Arthur was a Man of many talents, Veteran of the U. S. Navy, Supervisor at Old Ben Coal Company, Brakeman with the Railroad, Mechanic, Owner/Operator at Wheatley’s Auto Service and a Caretaker for Walnut Hills Cemetery. He was a Member of the Free Methodist Church in Petersburg and a Member of Oddfellow.
Funeral services will be at Noon on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, IN, with burial to follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00am until service time.
