
The Washington Hatchets posted a huge win over 2nd ranked Loogootee in a tough game at the Hatchet House 50-45. Logan Riester led three Hatchets in double figures with 17 points. Washington goes to 4-5 while the Lions drop to 8-2.
North Daviess continues to remain unbeaten with a solid win over Eastern Greene on the road 64-45. The Cougars are set to host the big Bobcat of Daviess County Holiday tournament Tuesday night in the Cougar Den.
Barr Reeve also notched a “W” defeating NE Dubois on the road 66-43. Hagen Knepp finished with 34 points in the win. The Vikings will also play in the North Daviess Tournament starting Tuesday night.

Big news for Washington Lady Hatchet Coach Gretchen Miles. It was announced yesterday that Coach Miles will be the lone representative from our area to join the Silver Anniversary Team this year. Eighteen women were named to the team, based on outstanding accomplishments as a senior basketball player 25 years ago. All Team members will be honored at the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame’s 20th Women’s Awards Banquet on Saturday, April 30, 2022.
Indiana faces Northern Kentucky Wednesday night at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in the Hoosiers’ penultimate non-conference tilt. The Hoosiers are 9-2 after beating Notre Dame Saturday in the Crossroads Classic. The Norse enter play 4-6, and Indiana is favored by 17 points. IU and NKU tip off at 7:00 p.m. Eastern in Bloomington.
Notre Dame looks to move above .500 with a Wednesday afternoon matchup with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at the Joyce Center. The Fighting Irish are 5-5 after beating Western Michigan Monday night in South Bend. The Islanders are 10-2 overall, and the Fighting Irish are 4-0 at home. Notre Dame and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi tips off at 1 p.m. Eastern in South Bend.
The Miami Heat hit 22 3-pointers and dominated the Indiana Pacers 125-96 Tuesday night in Miami. The Heat took the lead midway through the first quarter and quickly pulled ahead; closing the first quarter on a 17-4 run to lead by 12. Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro each scored 26 points, and combined to hit 11-of-18 3-pointers. The Pacers were led by Caris LeVert and Chris Duarte, who each had 17 points. Indiana shot 36 percent from the field and from 3-point range. Coach Rick Carlisle returned to the bench for Indiana after he missed four games due to COVID-19. Malcolm Brogdon left the game in the first quarter with a sore Achilles, which had caused him to miss Thursday’s win over Detroit. Miami was without All-Stars Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler. The Pacers are 13-19, and are back home Thursday night to host Eric Gordon and the Houston Rockets.
