The Oakland City Eagles Lodge has been destroyed by violent fire.
Firefighters in both Pike and Gibson Counties spent much of yesterday morning battling flames at the historic building located at 119 E Washington Street.
Authorities report the building is a total loss.
The surrounding streets were still blocked off as of last night as the remaining structure was left smoldering.
Clean up operations are beginning, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
No one was hurt.
