The Indianapolis Colts placed quarterback Carson Wentz on the reserve/Covid 19 list Tuesday afternoon. However, the first year Colts’ status remains in the air for Sunday’s meeting with the Raiders. Following the roster move, the NFL announced it would reconstruct its Covid protocols to align with the CDC. All players placed in Covid protocol now must quarantine for five days as opposed to ten.
The NFL announced that John Madden passed away on Tuesday. Madden was a Hall of Fame coach with the Oakland Raiders, and worked as a broadcaster for each major network that carried the NFL. The cause of his death was not immediately clear, and was deemed as “unexpected.” As a coach in the NFL, Madden accumulated a 103-32-7 record and a Super Bowl championship (XI).
The Indiana Hoosiers announced today’s non-conference finale against UNC Asheville is canceled. A statement from the program stated that UNC Asheville had Covid issues amongst its program as the reason for the cancellation. Now, Indiana (10-2, 1-1) will now travel to State College to resume Big Ten play against Penn State (5-5, 0-2) on Sunday.
