Bob Thurman, Jr., 63, passed away at his residence Wednesday, December 29, 2021. He was born in Henderson, Kentucky, January 26, 1958, to Robert R. Thurman, Sr. and Barbara (Smith) Thurman. On May 22, 1999, he married Bonnie (Graber) Thurman, and she survives.
Bob was a Washington High School graduate who went on to earn a degree from IVY Tech. He was recently retired from Millwright Local 1076. Bob enjoyed listening to music – especially the rock ‘n’ roll oldies. He loved to grill out and was known for his ribeye steaks. Bob was member of the Eagles, VFW, and Sons of the American Legion. He began as a member of Millwright Local 1080, and later was a member of Millwright Local 1076.
Those left to cherish Bob’s memory are his wife, Bonnie; son, Wesley (Stephanie) Thurman of Montgomery; stepdaughter, Shannon (Chris) Lee of Evansville; and stepson, Jake (Lori) Richer of Greenfield. Bob was blessed with several grandchildren: Ryan Thurman, Storm Cooper, Isaac Cooper, Chloe Cooper, Scarlett Richer, Vivian Richer, and Montana (Drake) Turner; as well as a great-grandson, Hudson Turner. Bob also leaves two sisters, Diane Casey of Tulsa Oklahoma; Sandy (Bill) Rork of Middleton, Ohio, and a brother, Mike Thurman of Washington.
During his life, Bob mourned the loss of his parents, Robert, Sr. and Barbara Thurman; and a son, Ryan Thurman.
Visitation for Bob Thurman, Jr. will be 1:00-3:00 pm, Sunday, January 2, 2022, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, North Chapel, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington, Indiana. His funeral will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 3:00 pm, also at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, North Chapel. Bob’s grandson, Pastor Isaac Cooper will officiate.
