The Washington Lady Hatchets started off the new year with a big road win last night at Southridge 49-20. Kencia Lavasseur and Alaina Thorne had 14 points apiece, while Jesse Ledgerwood added 10. Washington goes to 14-3 with a road trip to Pike Central on Thursday.
Pike Central fell last night to Heritage Hills 53-33.
Vincennes Rivet topped Salem yesterday 46-41.
Tonight, the Vincennes Lincoln Lady Alices will travel to Princeton.

We’re less than a month away from finding out what Washington Football Team’s new mascot will be. The team released a hype video teasing a new name to be announced on February 2nd. The team’s logo, jerseys and helmets will also be revealed. It’s believed the team’s name will be one of these six: Armada, Presidents, Brigade, Defenders, Redhogs or Commanders.
Butler struggled offensively and fell at home to 24th-ranked Seton Hall 71-56. The Pirates took the lead in the first half with a 15-2 run and did not look back. The Bulldogs shot just 6-for-25 from 3-point range and scored 26 first half points. Bryce Golden scored a game-high 19 points for the Dawgs.
The New York Knicks beat the Indiana Pacers 104-94 Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden. After the game was tied at halftime, the Knicks outscored the Pacers by 10 in the second half. Indiana’s losing streak has reached a season-high five games. The Pacers were once again without eight players who are in the NBA’s health and safety protocols. New York outrebounded the Pacers 51-35, and out scored the Blue and Gold in the paint 54-38. The Pacers host the Brooklyn Nets Wednesday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Nets guard Kyrie Irving is expected to make his season debut.
