Christena Jackman

Christena Jackman, 100 of Washington, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.
Christena was born in Alfordsville on November 17, 1921 to the late Christian Bauer and Gertrude Garland Bauer.
Christena was a homemaker and put her family and church above all else; she was a member of the Washington Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed; quilting, cooking, word searches, gardening, canning, watching Little House on the Prairie ( and was a modern day Ma Ingalls), she also loved attending all her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Christena is survived by: children, Sandra White (Dutch Thompson), foster son, Dexter Emmons; grandchildren, Stephanie Jackman-Burns (Michael), Julie Ross, Philip White, Maria Lopez;great-grandchildren, Christian Burns, Brittany Burns, and Lyric Burns, Jessica White, Jill Maharrey, Amber Wadsworth, Harmonie White, Sam White, Dara White, and Ryder White; great-great-grandchildren, Carter Burns,, Briellle Burns, Cash Burns, Pierce Babrick, Parker Lopez, Vincent Wadsworth, Preston White, Garon White, and Benjamin Keller.
She was preceded in death by; her loving husband, Bernard Jackman; a daughter, Mary Rose Jackman; grandson, Jay D Heffernan; and fourteen siblings, Mae Kieffner, Raymond Bauer, Clarence Bauer, Frank Bauer, Bill Bauer, Susan Adams, Anneta Potts, Nora Williams, Ferne Seymour, Gertrude Riker, Richard Bauer, Verda Bauer, Vonda McCain, and Tip Bauer.
There will be a visitation on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Fredrick and Son-Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut ST. 47501 with a service following on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. to be officiated by Rev. Adam Conder also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery.
