Robert Gray Waddle

Robert Gray Waddle, 70, passed away Saturday, December 25, in Indianapolis, IN. He was born July 24,1951 in Vincennes, IN, to Edward “Bus” and Geraldine “Gerry” Waddle.
Rob graduated from Indiana University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Business. He began a career in banking at the First National Bank in Petersburg, IN and retired at the age of 59 as branch manager of the Home Building Savings Bank also in Petersburg. Rob was an active position-holding member of the Main Street Presbyterian Church, where he also took part in one of his life’s passions, singing in the church choir. His booming voice could also frequently be heard as a member of the Desperations. He aspired to make a positive impact on his local community as evident in his service and volunteering in countless organizations and committees throughout Pike County including The Loyal Order of Moose, Kiwanis Club, the MSPC, Pike County Community Foundation, and the Petersburg Little League, to name a few. Rob truly was a giant of a man in every way and he loved giving back to others.
Rob is survived by his sons, Daniel (Sarah) Waddle, of Indianapolis and Robert (Laura) Waddle, of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Isaac Daniel Waddle and Audrey Jewel Waddle, of Indianapolis; brother, Joseph L Waddle of Bedford, IN. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Ann (Swift) Waddle.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 1 p.m. EST with visitation starting at 11 a.m. at the Main Street Presbyterian Church in Petersburg, IN, following a private graveside service at Walnut Hill Cemetery. There will be a meal provided after the memorial service for family and friends. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the St. Vincent Foundation for the Cancer Care to Art Program at 8402 Harcourt Rd. Suite 210 in Indianapolis, IN 46260.
