Hoosier National Forrest Sends Permit Reminder to Visitors

The Hoosier National Forrest reminds visitors ages 17 and older that if you wish to ride a bike or horse on the trails, you will need a permit.
Permits are available for daily use at $5 per person, or annual use at $35 per person.
There are a variety of options to purchase a trail use permit.
You can buy a permit at the Forest offices, at local vendors, by phone or mail, or online at Recreation.gov.
To purchase in person, contact your local Forest office to schedule an appointment.
For Bedford, call (812)-275-5987 and for the Tell City office, call (812)-547-7051.
Park officials say 95% of the income from permits is used to maintain trails and improve visitor services at the Hoosier National Forest.
