A Birdseye man was arrested last night on drug charges following a traffic stop in Jasper.
Just before 10:00 pm, officers with the Jasper Police Department stopped a white Chevrolet Cobalt near the intersection of 36th Street and Mill Street after they say the vehicle went left of center several times, failed to stop at a stop sign, and was speeding.
A police K9 was on scene and alerted to the presence of drugs inside of the vehicle.
After a search of the vehicle, 2 marijuana joints were located along with a THC vape pen.
The driver, 18-year-old Wesley Stout, was taken to Memorial Hospital for a chemical test which then indicated the presence of THC in his system.
Stout was booked into the Dubois County Security Center where he was charged with Operating While Intoxicated with a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
