Washington’s School Board held its annual reorganization meeting Friday afternoon. Randy Bouchie was re-elected Board President and Pam Bartlett was elected to be the Board’s vice-president. Steve Frette was selected as Board Secretary. The Board appointed Carrie Alford to serve as the School Corporation’s Treasurer, with Andrea Martin as Assistant Treasurer. The superintendents was appointed to represent the Washington Schools on the boards of the Twin Rivers Vocational Co-op, the Daviess-Martin Special Education Co-op, and the Educational Service Centers Risk Fund Trust.
The Board followed past practice and set its regular meeting time and space as 7:00 pm on the third Thursday of each month. Superintendent Dr. Dan Roach reported the Washington Schools had an increase of 41 students over last year.
In personnel action, the Board approved Erin Hammon as a bus aide, and Meagan Hickey as a bus driver, contingent on her receiving a CDL. The Board also accepted the retirement of elementary music teacher Denise Walden.
Following the business portion of the meeting, the Board continued discussion from Joe Morris and Youth Football concerning using Allen Field as a multi-sport facility site for elementary and jr. high aged children.
