A man has been charged after being accused of raping an Indiana University student while she was intoxicated and vomiting.
The Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Samuel Elliott of Huntington with four counts of rape on Jan. 20.
The investigation began in December of 2020, when IUPD spoke with the victim.
Court documents say a group of people were drinking alcohol in a lounge at Teter Thompson residence hall before moving to a room.
Witnesses say Elliott followed the victim to a restroom where she became ill, and he raped her.
Samuel Elliott was a student at the time of the incident but IU officials say he is no longer enrolled.
Elliott has an initial hearing in court on Feb. 4.
