Petersburg will look a little different over the next several months as INDOT begins work on several projects.
According to the Petersburg Press Dispatch, a new 8-inch water line will be put in place on the City Hall side of Main Street. Traffic will be redirected during work which will begin next month and be completed by about August.
Another project will replace curbs, sidewalks, and street poles in the same area. That project will also start at 4th Street and work upwards toward the north. Construction on that project is also slated to be completed by August.
Other projects include the milling and paving of Pike Avenue from HWY 57 to Hornaday Park. Crews will also mill and pave HWY 57 from Pike Avenue to just beyond Park Lane as well as the area from HWY 61 North all the way to the water tower at the city limits.
Further projects will see further rehabilitation of HWY 61 North and the fixing of a drainage problem near Fish Hut also on HWY 61.
Another three projects are also scheduled.
