A controversial bill dealing with Critical Race Theory recently passed the Indiana House.
Several educators have spoken out against House Bill 1134.
The bill would ban schools from talking about topics like race and racism or teaching any lessons that make students feel any type of discomfort or guilt about their race.
The bill would also require teachers to make all lesson plans available publicly.
Indiana State Representative Shane Lindauer explains why he voted against the bill…
The bill would also require the governing body of a school corporation to create an advisory committee comprised of parents, teachers, administrators, and community members. The committee would submit recommendations for educational materials and activities.
Representative Lindauer says this was another reason he voted no….
The bill has been referred to a senate committee.
