The City of Evansville has made big investment to put license plate readers on police cruisers and in high-crime areas of the city.
The city has set aside $125,000 to pay for the license plate readers which they hope will help them catch more wanted criminals and stolen cars.
The system they are investing in can alert officers in seconds after detecting the license plate of a stolen car.
