High-speed broadband is heading to Pike County.
PSC is currently set to install over 125 miles of broadband in Pike County.
The Pike County Economic Development Corporation says they are currently constructing fiber broadband infrastructure in their Holland exchange.
Most of the construction is in the southeast corner of Pike County specifically in the Stendal/Lockhart township area.
This $6.5 million infrastructure investment will bring over 125 miles of fiber infrastructure to over 400 locations.
The announcement comes as broadband becomes a larger topic of discussion at local, state, and federal levels.
The pandemic has sparked the need for high-speed broadband for work, school, communication, and entertainment, as wireless connectivity becomes part of everyday life.
