One Rescued from Flood Waters in Washington

Monday’s rains showers contributed to flooding problems in several areas.
The Washington Township Fire Department says they would like to remind you not to travel flood covered roads.
Yesterday afternoon around 2:00 pm, fire crews assisted The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, Daviess County EMA, and Davies Community Hospital EMS in rescuing an individual by boat who became stranded after trying to cross a flood covered road.
No injuries were reported.
Driving through flood water can be extremely dangerous and should always be avoided.
Authorities say to keep in mind that in the event your vehicle becomes stranded, you not only put yourself at risk, but also the first responders who must come to your rescue.
