North Daviess has announced season tickets will be on sale in the high school principal’s office starting today for the Loogootee Regional on Saturday. The season tickets are $10 and will be on sale from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Season passes are good for all three games. North Daviess will open against Edinburgh in game one at 10:00 am, while Springs Valley plays Borden at noon. The championship is Saturday night at 7:00 pm. Best of luck to North Daviess this weekend.
The Cougars will host a pep session for the team on Friday beginning at 2:00 pm for the student body. The Public is also invited to attend.
Vincennes Lincoln High School is on the lookout for a new Boys Varsity Basketball Coach. Jordan Myers announced he would step down from the position effective immediately. Vincennes just ended a 2 and 21 season with a loss to Pike Central in the sectional semifinals. Myers headed the program for the past three seasons and compiled a record of 15 wins and 50 losses during his tenure. Myers moved to Vincennes after coaching two years at Benton Central, and is a 2009 graduate of Forest Park High School. Myers will remain at the school and teach Social Studies.
The Indiana Pacers return home to face the Cleveland Cavaliers Tuesday night. The Pacers went 1-3 on their recent road trip, and have lost 11 out of 14 overall. Indiana is coming off a road loss against the Wizards. The Cavaliers have dropped six out of eight, but are coming off a victory over the Raptors. In the win, Cavs All-Star center Jarrett Allen suffered a fractured finger and is expected to be sidelined indefinitely. Former Pacer Caris LeVert has missed the past six games with a foot injury. Cleveland enters play 37-27, while the Blue and Gold are 22-44. The Cavs will go for the season sweep after beating the Pacers in three prior matchups, including two last month. Indiana and Cleveland tip off at 7 p.m. Eastern at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Purdue dropped one spot to ninth in the college basketball AP Poll released Monday. The Boilers went 1-1 last week, with a loss at Wisconsin Tuesday night and a victory over Indiana Saturday at Mackey Arena. Their ninth place ranking is the lowest all season. Purdue is the number three seed in this week’s Big Ten tournament at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The Boilers will face either Ohio State, Penn State or Minnesota Friday night at 9 p.m. Indiana is set to play Michigan Thursday morning at 11:30 a.m. in the 8-9 game in what is a must-win for the Hoosiers’ NCAA tournament hopes. If IU were to win Thursday, the Hoosiers would play top-seeded Illinois Friday.
