John Edward Burke, 68, passed away at 1:36 pm on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospital. John was born on April 11, 1953 and he was the son of John Amos and Martha Jean (Goldman) Burke. John married Emma Brochin on September 6, 1970.
John worked for Peabody Coal Company and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and metal and wood working. Most importantly though, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Emma Burke of Vincennes; sons, John Andrew Burke and his wife Robin of Vincennes, Mark Alan Burke and his wife Nicole both of Vincennes; sister, Reba Gail Spanger and her husband Loy of Bicknell; his grandchildren, John Cody Burke and his wife Jessica, Nicholas Burke and his wife Sherie, Shelby Burke, Ellie Burke, Molly Burke; his great grandchildren, John Oliver Burke, Bentley Burke, Ruby Burke, and Henry Burke. John is preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Gary Gene, Roger Lynn and Michael Wayne Burke.
Friends may visit with John’s family from 11:00 am until the hour of service time of 2:00 pm on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN. A.J.
