Washington High School will offer pre-sale tickets for the Washington Semi-State. You can purchase tickets in the athletic office from 7:50 am to 3:30 pm today through Thursday this week. On Friday, you can buy tickets from 7:50 am through 12:00 pm. Tickets are $10:00 each and include both games. Game One is at 1:00 pm EST and will be Class 3A Beech Grove vs. Sullivan. Game Two is set for 3:00 pm EST and puts Class 4A Indianapolis Cathedral against Bloomington North. Tickets will also be available at the door 1 hour prior to game time.
Indiana begins the NCAA Tournament Tuesday night when the Hoosiers take on Wyoming in the First Four in Dayton, Ohio. The two number 12 seeds will battle for the right to advance to the Round of 64 and play fifth-seeded Saint Mary’s Thursday in Portland, Oregon. The Hoosiers are 20-13, while the Cowboys out of the Mountain West Conference went 25-8. After starting 21-3, Wyoming has gone 4-5 over the last nine games, and lost in the MWC semifinals. IU is favored by four points, with tip off Tuesday night at 9:10 pm. Eastern on TruTV.
The Indiana Pacers return home to face the Memphis Grizzlies Tuesday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. It is the first matchup between the two teams so far this season. Grizzlies star Ja Morant is doubtful due to back soreness. Pacers guard Malcolm Brogdon is questionable after missing the last two games with a concussion, and rookie guard Chris Duarte is questionable with a sore left toe. The Grizzlies are one of the surprise teams in the NBA at 47-22, the second-best record in the league. Indiana is 23-46 and losers of four out of five. The Pacers and Grizzlies tip off Tuesday at 7:00 pm. Eastern at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The Colts’ options for quarterback are dwindling. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Houston Texans declined the Colts’ attempt to speak with quarterback Deshaun Watson. Schefter added that while Houston is comfortable trading Watson, they won’t deal him to an AFC South foe. Free agent quarterback Mitchell Trubisky signed a two-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers Monday. Former Colts right guard Mark Glowinski signed with the New York Giants for 20 million dollars over three years, according to Ian Rapoport. Tight end Mo Alie-Cox is returning to Indy on a three-year deal, according to multiple media reports.
