Jenice A Salts went home to be with her Lord and savior on Friday, March 11, 2022, in Vincennes, Indiana at the age of 77. She was born on May 10, 1944, in Princeton, Indiana.
Those left to cherish her memories include the love of her life and best friend, her husband Rick Salts; son James Ice and his wife Pam Love, son Anthony Salts and his wife Hannah; daughter Joyanna Holman and her husband Ryan, daughter Karla Johnson; son in law Kevin Dassel; six grandchildren, Kennedy Salts, Kayla Petrusek, Jake Dassel, Kurt Petrusek, Hanna Dassel, Carrie Dassel; seven great grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Cecil Jackson, Pauline Jackson, and one daughter Tonya Dassel.
Jenice A. Salts graduated from Lincoln High School in 1963 where she helped form the cheer block. She went on to attend Vincennes University and graduated with an associate degree in 1965. After graduating from Vincennes University, she attended Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky and earned a bachelor’s degree. Jenice loved school, loved to learn new things, and loved getting her education, and she was very proud of that. Jenice is a member of the First Church of God in Vincennes. She loved her family very much and spending time with them was very important to her. Cross stitching, and cooking were her hobbies. She loved to watch the Lincoln Alices play basketball and loved cheering them on! Going to McDonalds and getting her Coke and going for afternoon rides in the car with Rick was one of her favorite things to do. She will be deeply missed by all!
Funeral services celebrating the life of Jenice A. Salts will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022, at 1:00 pm at the Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway Street, Vincennes, Indiana. Officiating will be Pastor Fred Nocus and interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, March 18, 2022, from 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
