Under the bill signed into law by Governor Eric Holcomb, handgun permits will now be optional in Indiana.
You will still the option of obtaining a gun permit from that state which you will need if you plan to carry in states that still require a permit.
The governor and the state police superintendent did not see eye to eye on the bill, but Doug Carter said he offers Governor Holcomb his “continued commitment.”
He also says he says he will work to find “the best way to identify individuals who are not allowed to carry a firearm.”
