The Indianapolis Colts officially introduced new quarterback Matt Ryan on Tuesday. Ryan said he wanted to join the Colts after meeting virtually with team brass Saturday night. He said that after 14 years in Atlanta, the time was right to make a change and that Indianapolis was the only place he wanted to end up. Ryan was acquired by the Colts in exchange for a 2022 third round draft pick. The 36-year-old Ryan has two years left on his contract, and will likely become the Colts’ sixth different Week 1 starter in six years.
The Indiana Pacers are back at home Wednesday night to face the Sacramento Kings. It will be the first game for Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield against their former team, although Haliburton is questionable with a lower back injury. The backcourt duo was acquired from Sacramento last month in exchange for All-Star big man Domantas Sabonis, Jeremy Lamb and Justin Holiday. Sabonis will not play due to a bruised knee suffered Sunday. The Kings have lost three straight and are 25-48. Indiana is 25-47 and winners of two in a row. The Blue and Gold are favored by four for Wednesday night’s 7 p.m. tip off.
